Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Mi Casa has poured margaritas beside the Blue River since 1981, making it one of Breckenridge's longest-running restaurants. Founders Alexandra Storm and Dick Carleton ran it for 41 years before handing operations in 2022 to a local investment group whose operating partners are Breckenridge chefs Mike Zehnder and Matt Vawter — the latter the town's James Beard Award winner.

The menu sticks to Mexican classics done well: fajitas, enchiladas and guacamole prepared tableside, backed by an extensive tequila list. The daily cantina happy hour is a 40-year town tradition, and the large dining room has long been the default gathering spot for groups and families.

You'll find it at the south end of downtown, near the Riverwalk Center — still locally owned after four decades.
