Crêpes à la Cart

The line snaking down Main Street is the giveaway: Crêpes à la Cart has been making classic French crepes to order from its sidewalk cart since 2000, and the wait is a town ritual in every season — never more so than at winter après-ski.

The menu runs to more than 70 sweet and savory combinations, from apples and brie to bananas and chocolate chips to chicken pesto, with a gluten-free, dairy-free batter available. In 2016 the operation added a sit-down Crepe Kitchen in Ridge Street Alley, behind the post office, for anyone who wants a roof with their crepe.

Twenty-five years in, it remains exactly what it started as: an independent, Breckenridge-only original — not a franchise, and never expanded farther than across the street.
