Mountain Angler
Jackson Streit opened Mountain Angler in 1985, and four decades later it remains Summit County's oldest and most experienced fly-fishing guide service — still founder-owned and still anchored by its full-service fly shop at 311 S Main Street in downtown Breckenridge. The shop sells flies, rods and gear daily, and it's the kind of place where the person behind the counter probably guided the river you're asking about that morning.
Guided wade trips run year-round on the Blue, Arkansas, Colorado and South Platte rivers, with float trips on the Colorado in season and tailwater fishing keeping the calendar full through winter. Equipment is provided on guided trips, and half-day and full-day options suit everyone from first-cast beginners to anglers chasing a specific hatch.
Book ahead for guide dates — the shop itself is open daily from 8am for flies, advice and current river conditions.
