Breckenridge Public Art Collection
Breckenridge has woven 33 permanent artworks through its downtown, the Blue River corridor and the Arts District — a town collection curated by nonprofit Breck Create that deliberately links the mining past with the mountain-sport present. The headliner is 'Syncline,' a 24-foot abstract steel sculpture by internationally renowned artist Albert Paley at the Riverwalk Center plaza; a local favorite is 'Indy Sunset,' a bronze modeled on photographs of a skateboarder and a snowboarder along the Blue River path.
Pick up a free self-guided walking-tour map at Old Masonic Hall or the Welcome Center, or use the free mobile audio tour, which covers both the public art and the Arts District.
Everything is outdoors and viewable around the clock, year-round. Come summer, the 'Sculpture on the Blue' exhibition adds monumental loaned pieces along the river — doubling the reasons to walk the corridor.
