The Bivvi Hostel
Bond Camp and Worthy McCormick met studying business at CU Boulder and opened The Bivvi in 2014 with a clear idea: Breckenridge needed a true base camp for 'adventurers, mountain gurus and ramblers.' More than a decade on, it remains independent and owner-run — the town's dedicated hostel in a market dominated by condos.
The timber lodge on Highway 9 at the south end of town offers bunk-style dorm beds alongside private rooms, a genuinely rare budget option in a resort town. The social heart is the common space: a great room with a fireplace, an outdoor deck, and a hot tub where guests from around the world swap trail conditions and ski beta.
Car-free travelers do fine here — the free Summit Stage and Breck bus routes connect the hostel to Main Street and the lifts.
