Fatty's Pizzeria

Fatty's is Breckenridge's oldest pizzeria, serving Ridge Street since the 1970s in a building whose history runs back to 1894, when the Peabody family operated it as the Colorado House boarding house. Richie 'Fatty' Provoromo gave the place its name in the late 1970s, and 'Southside Johnny' — the hands-on owner since 1981 — recently marked the restaurant's 50th year.

The kitchen makes its pizza crust, corned beef, soups and sauces in-house, and the portions run generous. On game days the bar fills with longtime locals, which tells you what the room really is: the town's sports bar, in continuous local hands for decades.

One block off Main Street, it's an easy, casual, family-friendly stop in the historic district.
