Telluride Historical Museum

The Telluride Historical Museum offers engaging annual exhibitions alongside the Museum's permanent collection of artifacts from the region's Ute heritage, robust mining history, and ski and festival history. Ten rooms, each with their own theme, showcase these different aspects of Telluride history. Hands-on, interactive, and rotating displays engage all the senses, giving visitors new experiences each visit.

The museum is housed in Hall's Hospital, built in 1896 and serving as Telluride's hospital until 1964. In 1966 it reopened as the Historical Museum. The building was restored in 2002 with public funding and now features a reinforced structure and new exhibits.

Visitors can also enjoy a historic walking tour of Telluride, Fireside Chat lectures, and Hike into History programs exploring the high country in celebration of the region's rich history. The museum is an in association with the Smithsonian Institution.
