Telluride Coffee Roasters
Telluride Coffee Roasters, hand-crafted coffee since 1991 (originally founded as the Steaming Bean coffee house on Main Street), is a full-fledged sourcing and wholesale/retail coffee roasting operation located in Southwest Colorado at almost 9,000 feet. Founded by Mick Hill, a 35-year green coffee veteran, the company supplies coffeehouses, hotels, supermarkets, and a growing online retail business with fresh roasted coffee. All coffee is hand-roasted in-house on a 2016 Probat P25 roaster in small batches based on the roastmaster's sight and smell, allowing close monitoring for consistency.

The company favors a slow roasting style, allowing beans to reach their peak flavor without rushing them with excessive heat—an approach the team credits partly to roasting at high altitude in the rarefied air of Telluride. With over 75 combined years of experience in coffee procuring, importing, roasting, and tasting, the team ensures only the best quality green beans from sustainable farms with solid histories of cultivation and social responsibility. Transit time from 1 to 5 days allows coffee to fully de-gas and arrive perfectly rested.

The company is passionate not only about coffee but also about its home mountain town of Telluride, a former remote mining town at 8,750 feet surrounded by 12,000-foot peaks, now a world-class ski resort that maintains its unpretentious Old West charm.
