Ski Cooper

Ski Cooper is one of Colorado's remaining independently owned ski areas located near Leadville. The resort offers some of the lowest lift ticket rates in Colorado with fewer crowds and natural, all-natural snow. It features 64 trails served by 5 lifts spanning over 480 acres.

The terrain breakdown includes 18% beginner, 26% intermediate, 32% advanced, and 24% expert terrain. Ski Cooper is known as the perfect place to learn to ski and snowboard, with wide open runs, gentle rolling terrain, and a long magic carpet conveyor lift. The resort offers individualized lessons booked by phone, allowing instructors to find the best fit for each student.

The facility includes the Ridgeview Cafe and Timberline Taproom serving Colorado beers and pub fare. In early 2020, Ski Cooper opened the new Tennessee Creek Basin with 17 new double black runs, 4 new black diamond runs, and a new lift. The resort has historic significance as a training ground for World War II's 10th Mountain Division ski troopers, with displays and memorabilia featured on the 1st and 3rd floors of the lodge. The resort celebrates 10th Mountain Day in late February with a ski down parade of flags.
