Morefield Campground
Morefield Campground sits inside Mesa Verde National Park, a short drive up from the entrance and a good base for reaching the park's cliff dwellings and mesa-top sites. You pitch a tent or park an RV among pinyon and juniper, with wide views across the high country and quiet nights once the day-trippers leave.

The campground opens seasonally, running through the warmer months when the park's roads and trails are fully accessible. Mornings here mean cool air and birdsong before you head out to Spruce Tree House, Cliff Palace, or the drives along Chapin Mesa.

Because it's within the national park, staying here keeps you close to ranger programs and trailheads rather than commuting from town each day. Check the National Park Service for current season dates and reservation details before you go.
