Great Northern Bar and Grill

A favorite local hangout, opened in 1919, not long after the Great Northern Railroad came to Whitefish, Montana. Originally located 2 blocks away, it was moved to its present location in the early 50's. The decor consists of rescued signs from businesses that no longer exist.

Located in downtown Whitefish at the North end of Central Avenue. U.S. Highway 93 to Central Avenue.

Explanation of Live Music Scene (if there is one)

Live music on weekends, Blues jam on Tuesday evenings. Karaoke on Wednesdays and John Dunnigan on Thursday evenings.

The Great Northern offers an extensive lunch and dinner menu along with a large assortment of microbrews. There is also a gaming area and outside eating during the warm season.
