The Foothills Art Center was established in 1968 when a group of local artists, originally known as the Michonia Watercolor Society, bought the First Presbyterian Church building to have a permanent location for their work. Since then, Foothills Art Center has grown and evolved to offer a broad range of exhibits, events, and programming for artists and community members. To meet the needs of our community, we expanded into the historic Astor House in downtown Golden to display all of our exhibitions.

Through exhibitions, educational programming, and community events, FAC offers fertile ground for communities to grow. These can be anything from groups of artists banding together to inspire, forums discussing local issues, or even energized preteens building mechanized sculpture. The arts give life to the community.
