Walking Mountains Science Center
Walking Mountains Science Center is an environmental education organization dedicated to connecting people with nature and fostering stewardship and sustainability through natural science education. With four locations across Eagle County—the Avon Tang Campus & Science Center, Nature Discovery Center at Vail Mountain, Precourt Family Sweetwater Campus, and Vail Nature Center—the organization offers diverse educational experiences rooted in the region's mountain environment.

The center engages learners of all ages through kids and family programs, adult education, naturalist guided tours, backcountry programs, workshops, lectures, films, and comprehensive school programs that served over 3,500 students in recent years. The organization's mission is to awaken a sense of wonder and inspire environmental stewardship and sustainability through natural science education, working to build transformative partnerships across the community and eventually serve 100% of Eagle County students through hands-on, field science programs.
