In 1995, long-time local Brian Nolan opened Blue Moose Pizza to fill a needed niche in the then very new Beaver Creek Village with a family-friendly, New York-style pizzeria. Originally a small counter-service operation with NY style slices that quickly became a staple stop for visitors and locals alike, the Blue Moose has grown into a full-service restaurant now located in the Poste Montane in Beaver Creek Village, featuring a variety of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches in addition to hand-tossed NY style pizzas by the pie or slice.

The restaurant expanded and opened its second location in Vail's Lionshead Village in 2008. Though each location has its own individual character, both are built with the same key components at heart as the original 1995 operation—an emphasis on a family-friendly atmosphere and a core focused on hand-tossed NY style pizzas. Located next to the ice rinks in the heart of both Beaver Creek and Lionshead, the Blue Moose is a natural family favorite serving New York-style pizzas in the Vail Valley since 1995, providing a perfect meeting spot for groups of all kinds and sizes.
