U-Pick at Getmans' Orchard

Over a decade ago, Farmer Dan and his wife, Cheryl, who grew up in Kalispell, purchased the eight-acre orchard. After some years of neglect and a destructive deep freeze, the orchard needed to be brought back to life. After years of care and great emphasis on establishing and maintaining soil health and hand-pruning every tree, the orchard is now bursting with fruit: cherries, peaches, pears, plums, and apples, in addition to a young vineyard and raspberry patch.

All varieties of fruit are available for U-pick or pre-order seasonally: raspberries in late-June, cherries in late-July, peaches and plums in August, apples and grapes in September. The U-pick experience at Getmans' is happily a family affair. The trees are pruned in a way that allows for picking without the use of ladders. Farmer Dan does not use pesticides on his fruit, so sampling is encouraged. The orchard is small enough to experience fully but still provides an exciting adventure as visitors walk the fields looking and sampling to find the best-tasting fruit.
