San Isabel National Forest Campgrounds
The developed campgrounds in the San Isabel National Forest are managed through Recreation.gov near some of Colorado's highest mountain peaks along the Continental Divide. This forest draws crowds of all types, from fisherman to horseback riders, from family reunion groups to small backpacking duos, from ATV riders to downhill mountain bikers. In this large, diverse forest, you can find and enjoy almost any recreational activity.

Campgrounds are on United States Forest Service (USFS) property. Developed campgrounds offer tent sites, tables, firepits, pit toilet restrooms and garbage bins. Not all campgrounds have access to potable water.
Reservation camping can be booked from 6 months ahead to 5 days ahead at Recreation.gov or 877-444-6777. Less than 5 days ahead is first come/first serve only. Peaceful, scenic campgrounds near Leadville and Twin Lakes include sites at Halfmoon Creek, Turquoise Lake, and Twin Lakes.
