Lucky Bikes

Lucky Bikes (also known as Lucky to Ride) is a nonprofit youth development organization dedicated to giving kids from under-resourced communities transformative cycling experiences. The organization provides bikes, gear, skills training, and safe outdoor experiences so kids ages 8–20 can discover the freedom, confidence, and joy that cycling brings.

Through programs including guided adventure rides, earn-a-bike initiatives, bike shop internships, and skills classes, participants learn how to ride safely, care for their bikes, build job skills, and explore Colorado's trails and parks while building resilience, friendships, and a love of the outdoors. Lucky Bikes operates Lucky Bikes Re-Cyclery, a community-centered social enterprise bike shop that services and sells affordable, used bicycles; all profits support the nonprofit's youth programming.

The organization is part of the Trips for Kids national network, which has opened the world of cycling to over 100,000 at-risk youth across the United States, Canada, and Israel through guided mountain bike rides, job training, and earn-a-bike programs. Founded locally in 2004 as Trips for Kids Denver Metro, Lucky Bikes is managed and operated independently at the local level while sharing TFK's common mission to provide transformative cycling experiences that promote healthy recreational lifestyles, environmental awareness, and personal empowerment for young people of all communities.
