Jovial Concepts
At Jovial Concepts, we believe that food is more than something that we grow and eat—we believe that it is a strong catalyst for connection. It can bring people together, teach us about our history, and keep us rooted in a deep connection to each other. By understanding where food comes from, how it's grown, and the meaning it carries, we can foster a deeper connection to our culture and our community.
We offer a variety of engagement opportunities, from weekly volunteering to community events. We intentionally create space to learn and share, so we can all continue to grow together. Programs like our school garden programs can help kids get outside, play in the dirt, and feel accomplished by tasting the food that they have helped grow.
This helps us further our mission of bridging the gap between eating food and appreciating how it can nourish our bodies, minds, and communities. Our mission is to cultivate vibrant healthy communities through gardening, education, and preservation of sustainable food forests and native green spaces. Our vision is to use the power of gardens as classrooms to inspire learning, growth, and connection to others.
We've seen it time and again across Colorado—from schoolyards in Lakewood to neighborhood plots in Aurora. A patch of soil becomes a place where people come together, learn from one another, and create something lasting. Whether it's kids planting garlic in fall, neighbors harvesting heirloom tomatoes in August, or a shared recipe exchange over freshly picked kale, gardening is a universal language.
People show up for the plants, but they stay for the stories. We've watched friendships grow between folks who might never have met otherwise. Grandparents swap tips with first-time gardeners.
Families share traditional dishes. Teachers and students learn side-by-side.
