High Country Conservation Center

High Country Conservation Center is Summit County's homegrown environmental nonprofit, working from its Frisco office on a simple premise: practical solutions for waste reduction and resource conservation. It partners with the Town of Breckenridge on the community's climate and waste goals.

Its programs touch nearly every corner of local life — recycling and composting assistance, home energy assessments and efficiency rebates, green building support, water conservation, and community shared gardens. The Grow to Share program raises produce for local food security.

For visitors, HC3 is the county's go-to answer desk for recycling, composting and carbon-footprint questions — useful knowledge in a high-country community where getting waste right takes a little local know-how. Programs are free, and donations are welcome.
