Gold Run Nordic Center
The Town of Breckenridge runs this Nordic center on its golf course and adjacent open space north of town, grooming about 30 kilometers of classic and skate cross-country trails plus 15 kilometers of dedicated snowshoe trails. Fat biking, horse-drawn sleigh rides, lessons from never-ever to elite level, a remodeled clubhouse, and a pro/demo shop round out the operation.
The trails ride through genuine mining country: routes pass relics of Gold Run Gulch's placer-mining era and head toward the historic Preston townsite and Jessie Mill area. Special events through the season include full-moon and new-moon snowshoe and fat-bike tours.
The center operates roughly late November through early April depending on snow, daily 9am-4pm. Day passes run $35 for adults (13-64), $30 for seniors (65+), and free for kids 12 and under, with season passes and Recreation Center add-ons available. It is one of two Nordic centers reachable on the free Breckenridge transit system; in summer the terrain reverts to the town golf course and trail system.
