Gold Mine Cupcakes is an award-winning cupcake shop in Golden, Colorado. Their cupcakes have been named in the Top 16 in the nation by MSN, voted as "Best Cupcakes" on Denver's A-List in 2017, 2018, and 2020, and voted Best cupcakes in Colorado by Delish.com. They were also recently voted Best Dessert and Best Bakery in Golden, Colorado.

The dream for Gold Mine Cupcakes began many years ago when Sara Rutter grew up with a love for baking. In 2013, she brought that dream to reality, originally baking in her mom's kitchen before moving to a commercial kitchen and then to the heart of downtown Golden in 2015. As a family business, Sara, her mom Janeen, and sister Krista considered being in Golden a dream come true.

In 2021, the family sold Gold Mine Cupcakes to Dan and Jen Thoemke because of their love of the Golden community and passion for making Golden the best town in the world, with Krista staying on as General Manager. Gold Mine Cupcakes creates all recipes from scratch and makes them fresh each day. They offer everyday flavors including Red Velvet, Diamond White (almond), Birthday Cake, Double Chocolate, Vanilla Raspberry, Turtle, Carrot Cake, and Cookies & Cream, plus 2-3 seasonal, 1 gluten-free, and 1 vegan option each day. They also offer private cupcake decorating parties and special event orders including regular cupcakes, small cupcakes, jumbo cupcakes, and 6" cutting cakes.
