Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation Volunteer Vacations

Be a part of caring for the Bob Marshall Wilderness by putting your boots on the ground and leaving your mark on the trails in the Bob! This year you can help the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation clear and restore trails in the Great Bear, Bob Marshall and Scapegoat Wilderness areas. As a volunteer you will get to explore the Wilderness and give back to the Wilderness. Plan almost nothing and pay hardly anything for your Volunteer Vacation this year!

Not able to grab a coveted volunteer vacation spot this year? Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation has some incredible trip planning resources for you linked below.

Special Skills that May be Required or Helpful

You only need to be in good shape and bring the motivation to work. On the longer backpacking trips and especially the more strenuous rated projects, you should have some experience carrying a backpack and hiking long distances over rugged terrain. These projects are not a good way to gain this experience and suggest volunteering for one of the easier rated trips first. There are various trips for all ability levels and you can contact Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation to find an appropriate one for you. The BMWF crew leader will train each volunteer in trails maintenance skills! So no prior experience necessary.
