Destination Stewardship Network

Form a Stewardship Network for your destination

Optional for Destination Partners. A network turns the guide into a membership: the places that pledge to your destination’s stewardship values, the fund they share, and the local body that decides how it is spent.

A pledge, not a certification

Places join by accepting the stewardship pledge when they claim their listing. It is a public commitment to the destination – GoGood curates and scores self-assessments, it never audits, verifies or certifies.

A fund the network governs

Half of every membership and booking commission earned in your destination goes into its Stewardship Fund. The network decides what it pays for: local projects, destination marketing, or a community coordinator.

A community coordinator

The fund can pay a local contractor to recruit and support members, keep the guide current and run the network. One coordinator can serve several destinations.

Shared progress

The Stewardship Scan gives every member a self-reported score and an improvement plan, and gives the network a destination-wide view of where to focus next.

Nested, not siloed

A town’s network sits inside its region’s, and a region’s inside its state’s. A place joins where it belongs and counts toward every network above it.

Local priorities, written down

Members accept GoGood’s stewardship pledge; your network adds the local priorities the fund will support. GoGood provides the platform, the Scan and the reporting. The decisions stay local.

What it takes to start

A Destination Partner membership or a seed contract for your guide
A local body to govern the fund – your board, a committee, or a new council
Places in the guide that have claimed their listings and taken the pledge
A community coordinator, paid from the fund once it is funded
Listing stewardship pledge

What every listed place agrees to

Every business accepts this pledge when it claims or creates its listing. It is a good-faith commitment, not a certification – GoGood never audits or verifies it.

  • Respect the place and its peopleOperate in ways that honor the local community, culture, and environment of this destination.
  • Reduce our footprintTake practical steps to minimize waste, conserve resources, and lower the impact of our operations over time.
  • Be honest with travelersRepresent our offerings truthfully and avoid overstating environmental or social claims.
  • Support the local economyFavor local suppliers, workers, and partners wherever we reasonably can.
  • Welcome everyoneStrive to be inclusive and accessible, so travelers of all backgrounds and abilities feel respected and able to take part.
  • Keep improvingTreat stewardship as an ongoing practice, not a one-time checkbox, and welcome feedback from the network.
This is the base pledge. A destination with a Stewardship Network may add local commitments to it.Pledge version 2026-05.2
