Rustic Rook is located just 19 miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park entrance and near many other attractions and activities. Stay in one of our glamping tents and enjoy all the best things about camping without the mess, allowing you to maintain a high level of comfort and relaxation. Choose from one of our fully furnished tent options, enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast each morning and S’mores by the campfire at night. Camp activities include: Picnic and grill area, corn hole and horse shoe games, volleyball, frisbee golf, kids sand box and big wheel track, ½ mile walking trail, sunrise loop trail, yoga on Saturdays, live music on select nights and more. Our Location
We are located on 120 acres just 19 miles from The Great Sand Dunes National Park. You can see the dunes and the 14,000ft San De Cristo Mountain range from all sites. The San Luis Valley is a special place – it’s the largest alpine valley in the world – so not only do you have amazing front row views of the dunes and the San De Cristo range – you are actually surrounded by mountains in this massive alpine valley. In less than an hour to the west you will cross into the San Juan Mountain range, to the south also the San Juan’s and into New Mexico and to the north is the Sawatch Range.
In May of 2019 The Great Sand Dunes National Park was designated as a International Dark Sky Park by the International Dark-Sky Association. Rustic Rook is only 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the park and also an excellent place to view the stars. Many glampers enjoy stargazing right from their tent’s porch. When the moon is full at Rustic Rook glampers hardly even need to use their lanterns at night – it’s a beautiful sight to see – if you are looking to stargaze make sure to plan your trip when the moon is the smallest for best views of the stars.
