Platoro Reservoir

In Colorado’s Rio Grande National Forest, the Platoro Reservoir is a remote manmade lake in Conejos County, south of Del Norte. Although it has a relatively short season, the Platoro Reservoir is popular for outdoor activities in a beautiful, isolated mountain setting. Fishing is for brown, rainbow and brook trout. The reservoir is open to large and small motorized and non-motorized boats. There is a boat ramp at the northeast end of the reservoir, near the dam. The reservoir sits behind the Platoro Dam, which is crested at 9,993 feet in elevation.
