PitkinAlert
Current Weather and Fire Notifications
In a joint effort, the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office along with the Aspen Police Department, the Basalt Police Department, the Snowmass Village Police Department, Aspen Ambulance District, Aspen Fire Protection District, Basalt Fire Protection District, Carbondale Fire Protection District and Snowmass-Wildcat Fire Protection District have launched a notification service that allows us to alert you to an emergency or an important community alert in your area. The system uses traditional listed landlines, and you may also enter additional contact methods, such as cell phones, business phones, and email. The information you enter is protected and will not be used for any other purpose..
How the Notification System Works
When we issue a message about a potential safety hazard or concern, messages will be sent to all standard voice and text communication devices that you have registered, including landline phones, cell phones, e-mail, and more. If you don't confirm receipt of the message, the system will try to reach your second contact number or email. The system will continue trying to contact you until it receives a confirmation from you.
Sign Up for the Notification System
Add your contact information to the notification system. Residents and businesses with traditional listed landlines have already been included in the system for notifications of major emergencies. You may use the registration link to include additional ways to contact you. If you do not have a traditional landline phone, your information is not included in PitkinAlert. You must register for this service to receive emergency and/or community alerts. All information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
Stop Receiving Notifications
You can stop receiving at any time by removing your contact information from your profile.
