Montanya Distillers

Founded in 2008, in Silverton, CO, by rum maven Karen Hoskin, Montanya Distillers began with a bold vision: to create an exceptional, premium American rum that honors the traditions of high-altitude rum distilling traditions rooted in mountainous regions of Central and South America and the volcanic islands of the Caribbean.

With an unwavering commitment to the art and science of rum distillation, blending innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability, filtered through the lens of the beautiful mountain town we call home, Montanya redefined the category. Thus earning its paradigm-shifting reputation by challenging long-held conventions of who can make award-winning rum and where it can be made.

Where there was no obvious path forward, one was made, guided values and principles that became the foundation upon which Montanya would operate.

**Our Tasting Room **

Join us at our tasting room at 204 Elk Ave, right in the heart of town for rum tastings, craft cocktails, small bites (menu allergen information), limited-edition releases, and exclusive Montanya merchandise.

Warehouse and Distillery

Visit our expanded distillery located 10 minutes outside of Crested Butte, Colorado where we offer facility tours and guided tastings of our rums. We offer two tours (our regular tour/tasting, and our connoisseur tour for those desiring a more in-depth experience) where you will get a close look at fermentation vessels, wash tank, and our custom copper pot still. You'll also learn about the history of Montanya and how we craft delicious high-mountain rum.
