Crestone Energy Fair
The Crestone Energy Fair gathers builders, growers, and neighbors each September for three days of home tours, hands-on workshops, and demonstrations. Walk through passive solar homes, earthbag structures, and straw bale builds, then sit in on sessions covering greywater systems, water management, and food growing.

The fair runs in its 37th year in 2026, rooted in Saguache County, where a high concentration of natural and regenerative homes fills the high desert below the Sangre de Cristo range. This is a place where people build with earth and design around how sun, water, and wind actually move through the land, and the fair puts those working homes on display.
Beyond the September weekend, the community-led event hosts ongoing education sessions in August, extending the conversation about low-impact building and community well-being throughout the season.
