Bair Ranch

Tucked inside the dramatic cliffs of Glenwood Canyon, just minutes from Glenwood Springs, sits one of Colorado’s oldest working ranches—Bair Ranch. Established in the early 1900s and still family-owned today, this expansive property offers a rare and authentic glimpse into the mountain West, complete with high country views, historic charm, and unforgettable adventure.

Set on thousands of acres in one of Colorado’s most scenic canyons, Bair Ranch offers an unmatched setting for outdoor adventure. The ranch sits at the mouth of Glenwood Canyon, with direct access to winding trails, panoramic overlooks, and peaceful meadows far from the crowds.

The Bair family has been raising cattle and caring for this land for over 100 years. Through generations of dedication, the ranch has maintained its western heritage while welcoming guests to explore its scenic backcountry and experience ranch life firsthand.

Visitors don’t just ride or tour here they become part of a story that spans decades. Whether you’re sitting around a campfire or riding through golden aspens, you’ll feel the legacy in every detail.

Guests often say it feels like stepping into a different world one where time slows down, nature takes over, and the stars shine a little brighter.

Attire Keep in mind that Bair Ranch is a real working ranch. When you visit, come prepared to have a great time and get a little grubby. Go for garb that’s not too precious and offers protection from the elements. There’s a reason ranch hands wear pants and long-sleeved shirts. Choose clothes you won’t mind getting dusty and shoes that protect your feet. The ranch sits at a lofty elevation of 6,200 feet and the sun can get intense in the summer, even when there’s a cool breeze coming off the river. For the best experience, remember to wear sunscreen and a hat and to stay hydrated. Helmets will be provided for horseback riding.
