Deep Roots Farmers Market Glen Cove

What started as the Sea Cliff Farmers Market in 2014 with a single vendor in St. Luke's Church courtyard, has blossomed into the Deep Roots Farmers Market, a buzzing hub voted the No. 1 Farmers Market on Long Island by the Long Island Choice Awards in 2021 (and a current finalist for 2022 - check that - WINNER 2022!). Now serving the communities on the North Shore of Long Island with two locations, shoppers can come to Deep Roots all year round.

The Market was started as a way to help bring fresh, local produce to the community and support the small local farms growing it. Everything at the market is either handmade or grown locally (within 100 miles), and that's a strict policy. At the market you can typically find fresh produce, eggs, grass fed meats and dairy, seafood, fresh baked breads and sweets, honey, prepared foods, craft beer and spirits, a host of unique artisan goods, and even live music in the summer.

In 2021 Deep Roots summer market found a larger and more permanent home at Garvies Point Park along the newly developed Glen Cove waterfront. This backdrop makes for a perfect weekend destination to stroll with your family, friends, and pets and really enjoy a Saturday morning at the market while stocking up on essentials (and treats!).

In 2022, Deep Roots debuted the Great Neck Farmers Market on Sundays in Great Neck. Expanding the reach of the market has allowed more vendors and community members to become involved, and offers more opportunity for residents to get local goods. The Great Neck Farmers Market is a collaborative project of the Deep Roots Farmers Market and the Great Neck Park District.

After nearly a decade of building the market, in some ways Deep Roots is just getting started, and we believe is an example of the amazing things that can happen when you persists with an idea you believe in for your community. At Deep Roots we believe in local food systems from trusted sources because we know that healthy food = happy people and regenerative farming = a happy planet.
