Yampatika

Founded in 1992, Yampatika provides environmental education for all ages in the Yampa Valley, connecting people to nature through hands-on experiences that inspire environmental stewardship of Northwest Colorado's lands, water, and wildlife. For over 30 years, Yampatika has connected people with nature, reaching approximately 25,000 youth and adults each year with high-value environmental learning opportunities. Programs include guided hikes and workshops for adults and communities, classroom-based lessons for in-school programs, and seasonal day and overnight camps for youth.

Yampatika's offices are located in the US Forest Service Building in Steamboat Springs, where visitors can view displays of local wildlife and purchase books and maps. The organization is the only non-profit offering a continuum of educational services to children and adults ranging from PreK to senior citizens across Routt, Moffat, Rio Blanco, and Jackson Counties.
