In the summer the Snow Warriors manage the noxious weed spraying program, helping keep the roads and trails of upper Blackfoot Valley free of noxious weeds.

Eight major trails start right in the town of Lincoln where you can start your weekend on one system, connect in with a larger system, and never travel the same route twice by the time your weekend is over. Trails include breathtaking views around every turn. Deer, elk and an occasional moose may be seen.

In addition, there is a cross country ski trail system on Stemple Pass on top of the Continental Divide that boasts as a skiers private playground. Trails are skier-packed and include high quality off-trail routes for telemarking or bushwhacking. Most skiers stick to the four ski loops that provide opportunities for beginner (2 km), intermediate (20 km), and most difficult (10 km) levels of skill. The pass sits at 6,376 feet on the southern rim of the Blackfoot Valley. Here the snow blows in deep from early December until late March, and can reach depths of up to 5 feet. Stemple Pass was once a toll road between Helena and Lincoln during the gold-mining boomtown days of Lincoln in the 1860s. Fortunately, no tolls are collected for skiing Stemple Pass.
