Winter Park Resort

Winter Park is the closest major mountain destination to Denver at just 67 miles away, offering a remotely tucked-away experience in the high country of the Rockies. The resort, which opened in 1940 with one ski tow and three trails, has evolved into a premier four-season vacation destination with 765,000 acres of easy access to public land. Winter Park offers endless adventures ranging from skiing and snowboarding on easygoing groomers and tree-lined trails to Mary Jane's legendary bumps and wide-open views above treeline.

Beyond winter activities, the resort features scenic gondola rides to 10,700 feet offering views of the Continental Divide, snow tubing at Coca-Cola Tube Hill, snowmobile tours across the Continental Divide, guided snowshoe tours, and mountaintop dining and events at The Lodge at Sunspot. Summer activities include hiking, mountain biking, and scenic experiences. The Fraser Valley community is surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest and three wilderness areas, with Rocky Mountain National Park just 35 miles north. Visitors can enjoy downtown Winter Park and Fraser with local restaurants, breweries, shops, and galleries, or visit nearby Hot Sulphur Springs Resort for hot springs soaks.
