Rising Wolf Ranch
Rising Wolf Ranch is a great base location to enjoy the many activities in Glacier National Park and the Badger Two Medicine area of the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Originally built in 1928, this historic guest ranch is located approximately 4 miles east of the Continental Divide on the eastern edge of Glacier National Park and spans the South Fork of the Two Medicine River. The ranch is available for rent and is close to many activities that include: Trout Fishing, White Water Rafting, Hiking, Backpacking, Camping, and Horseback Riding.
The Main Lodge The center of activity at Rising Wolf Ranch is the main lodge. Built of timbers and pine pole, it contains 6 bedrooms and 2-1/2 full baths. The dining and living rooms both enjoy the original river rock fireplace.
The porch on both the first and second floors face the mountains of Glacier Park and look out on the South Fork of the Two Medicine River. The view is breathtaking and spectacular!
The Ranch House The ranch house was completely remodeled in the spring of 2005. A full kitchen is available plus 6 more bedrooms with 2 full baths. All linens and towels are provided. The living room contains a TV, DVD player, stereo, and karaoke system for your enjoyment. Off the front deck is a garden area with 2 hammocks sheltered by Aspen trees providing the perfect place for your afternoon nap. An adjoining cabin with a full bath provides the perfect accommodations for anyone looking for a little more privacy.
Around the Ranch Rising Wolf Ranch offers great hiking and catch and release fishing on the property. Or take the 20 minute drive to East Glacier to see the historic park lodge, or go horseback riding into the park. The East Glacier park entrance gives you access to the Two Medicine Lake area which hosts some of the most spectacular hikes in the park. Want to drive the Going to the Sun Road? Rising Wolf Ranch is right on the route!
The ranch is also very near the Blackfeet reservation which is famous for trophy Rainbow Trout fishing. Or, you can soak your line inside the park (no license required) or try a float down the Flathead River. For those more adventurous, the Middle Fork of the Flathead River also offers up class 3 and 4 white water that flows right down the boarder of the park, the scenery is spectacular!
Directions The entrance to Rising Wolf Ranch is off Highway #2 at mile marker 202.1, approximately four (4) miles east of Marias Pass, or seven (7) miles west of East Glacier Park. The road going in to the Ranch is not marked at the Highway #2 entrance. It sits on top of a hill and is 100 yards east of a garage on the south side of Highway #2.
