Public Sculptures

Public Sculptures is a collection of public art installations scattered throughout Sterling and Logan County, Colorado. The collection includes works in multiple mediums — bronze, wood, and marble — created by renowned sculptor Bradford Rhea and others.

Notable sculptures include Dream Redeemer at 808 Elm Street in Sterling, a bronze piece with poetic inscriptions about time and redemption; Skygrazers, a bronze sculpture that has become the symbol of the City of the Living Trees and was dedicated to Sterling in fall 1984; and Exordium, a 20,000-pound marble sculpture of seven angels in Merino, Colorado, inspired by Revelation 8:6.

Other significant works honor local institutions and history, such as Jack at Northern Junior College (created in 2004 to honor Jack Annan's 38 years of service), The Mask at the former Prairie Players theater site, and Plainsman Pete, the college mascot. Sculptures are distributed across Sterling's downtown and public spaces, including Columbine Park and Pioneer Park, making the public art collection an accessible cultural attraction throughout the community.
