Free Bump Clinics with Ski Legend Nelson Carmichael

On select days through the winter, Olympic freestyle skier Nelson Carmichael runs free bump clinics on the slopes at Steamboat. He coaches skiers through the rhythm of skiing moguls — how to absorb the bumps, keep your upper body quiet, and pick a line down a mogul field instead of fighting it. The clinics suit intermediate and advanced skiers who already link turns on groomers and want to tackle the bumps with more control.

Carmichael is a Steamboat local and a World Cup and Olympic competitor in mogul skiing, so you're learning the terrain from someone who grew up on it. The clinics meet on the mountain and run as a group session, no private-lesson price tag attached.

The clinics are free with a lift ticket and run only during the ski season, so check the current schedule and meeting spot before you head up. Bring skis you're comfortable on and dress for the cold.
