Coda Brewing

Coda Brewing is a craft brewery founded by Luke Smith, a former yeast microbiologist and translational research scientist who serves as the brewery's Fermentation Scientist. The brewery is dedicated to creating uniquely hand-crafted ales and lagers for craft beer enthusiasts by sourcing the highest quality ingredients. Luke's expertise spans fruit beers, sours, saisons, and IPAs—some say he has reinvented fruit beer and broken common stereotypes of the style.

Coda's philosophy centers on the idea that "Ale's what cures you," with most additional ingredients beyond water, hops, grain, and yeast selected for their potential beneficial physical attributes. The brewery maintains an ever-expanding tap list of experimental elixirs, potions, and tinctures, many available for only a few days as single-keg releases, and plans to build a functional apothecary library to display various ingredients used in the beer lab. The coda symbol notes the end of a music passage—like the end of the brewing process or having a beer at the end of a day.

Every beer has an audio pairing, and Coda taps into that last sense of hearing by pairing beer with music and collaborating with musicians to create beers they want. The brewery welcomes well-behaved dogs on leash, offers sample flights served in pyrex beakers, and hosts private and co-mingle events.
