Apgar Campground

Apgar campground is located in West Glacier- Glacier National Park. We like it as a homebase when visiting the Park. It's the largest campground in the Park and is close proximity to the West Glacier entrance. From the campground you can easily connect to bike-pedestrian trail, walk to Apgar Village where you can find food, stores, horseback rides, boat rentals, a free shuttle service, and Red Bus tours. The campground is sheltered by trees and sits across the street from Lake McDonald.

A local favorite is to drive into Apgar to watch the sunset over Lake McDonald. Lake McDonald is ten miles long and nearly 500 feet deep (152.4 m) and is the largest lake in the park. It is a perfect display of a glacial carved broad "u-shaped" valley.
