Reef Week

March 9th-15th, 2024

Join OCEANA in their week of fun and educational activities focused on the familiarity of the local and global importance of Belize’s marine system! Reef Week convenes locals and travelers in celebration and awareness of the thriving, 185 mile-long Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System.

As an important marine biodiversity wonder and an awarded “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO in 1996, Belize’s Mesoamerican Barrier Reef holds spectacular adventure opportunities for snorkelers and scuba divers!

We celebrate Reef Week to honor our historical and cultural connection to Belize’s Barrier Reef, to promote sustainable daily use of resources, and to foster the stewardship of land and sea which is necessary to keep the reef alive and healthy for generations to come.
