Monkey River Village

Located at the mouth of the Monkey River, the quiet village is bordered on the west by riverine forests and is a great place experience wild Belize. Tropical birds, butterflies, crocodiles, iguanas, and of course howler monkeys are just a few of the wildlife that visitors can expect on tours departing from Monkey River Village.

Take a hike through the jungle, where you’ll come across herbal medicines, tarantulas, crocodiles, snakes, howler monkeys and various birds, including toucans and oropendolas. If lucky, you may spot a deer, tapir, or even a jaguar.
